Efi fuel system setup question

Efi fuel system setup question - 01/15/18 12:15 AM

On my 69 Bee I have a Tanks Inc. efi tank with pump in the tank. I am running Russell pro classic II hose 3/8. I'm trying to find the cleanest and safest way to route the lines was thinking about running them across the back of the shock cross member and then down to the tank. Is it ok to have the lines go uphill like that right out of the tank? First efi system trying not to screw up. Anyway I run them they have to go uphill in the wheel well pretty much no matter what. Is a pump in the tank ok to push fuel like that? Return style system if that matters. Anyone running something similar? links? Thanks guys

Once the fuel is pressurized by the in tank pump, uphill and down hill does not matter. No worries there.

Fuel line routing near the back can be tricky. The stock system does it nicely. On my setup ('70 E) I used re-pop stock 3/8" steel lines for supply (mostly). 5/16" stock replacement lines for return. They do route from drivers to pass side across the cross member. I used OE style clips to hold everything in place.

I used a section of 8 AN racing hose from tank to steel lines for the supply and 6 AN for the return. To convert from AN to steel I used double flare steel to pipe thread and pipe thread to AN. I got the fittings and re-pop steel line from Inline Tube.

This system with in tank pump has been trouble free.

Mine run within the shock crossmember [e-body] and I have not had any issues. I would pay attention to the tank vent, or perhaps cap it and use just a vent cap.

I have a hard time keeping liquid fuel out of my "tanks" tank vent...

On my '69 Coronet, I used the Spectra EFI tank. It has the stock location vents. I ran the pressure hose up to the shock brace and routed like stock fuel line on passenger side. At the torsen bar crossmember I have a 90-degree fitting going to a 10-micron EFI filter, then another 90-degree fitting with the hose going through the hole in the crossmember like stock fuel line routing, then up to the back of the engine rear passenger side fuel rail. The return line runs from the back drivers side fuel rail and pretty much parallel to the rear brake lines on the drivers side, back up to the shock support and then back to the tank return.
