72' Duster 340 Oil Pan Clearence

72' Duster 340 Oil Pan Clearence - 12/22/17 06:28 AM

Putting a 340/4-speed in my 72' slant six 3 on the tree Duster. After I blasted my oil pan I'm seeing small holes. I'm looking to replace. I see after market ones from Milodon and others. But none have the "notch" on the one side. Many threads I read don't clearly state if this is needed for clearance for the drag link or not? I did get a V8 drag link to install when I update the front end. SO is the notch critical for my application? I was looking at Milodon 30750.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure what notch you are seeing, but the one to clear the tie rod is here

The notch like the one in this ebay ad? https://www.ebay.com/itm/73-Plymouth-Dus...rt/162753026589

I honestly don`t know how necessary it is to be there.

Yes. The original has a notch like the one you mentioned is currently on Ebay. Also I was looking at the same one offered by Summit Racing. I even checked FABO and most of the threads I read are related to having the correct oil pan for originality. Does anyone have a 70-72 duster with a small block than can check for clearance related to the "notch"? The center link I have is a drop link 70-72 a body.

The center link for a 72 A body should be all the same regardless of engine. 2535077 is the mopar part number. Unless yours was changed out it should have been the correct one on the car.
