T/A exhaust manifolds

T/A exhaust manifolds - 11/08/17 02:10 AM

I think I may have found correct exhaust manifolds for my T/A to replace headers. Can anyone verify the correct range of #s that should be cast onto them and what a decent price should be? The seller is asking $600
Thanks!

Same as any 1970 340, there is nothing about them T/A or AAR specific.

I knew that but do the 340 manifolds require a serial # or date code to be correct or will any 340 manifolds ('69,70,'71) be ok?

Typically (but not always).....

The drivers side with no visible casting number is the most common for these cars.

But there are some exceptions.

Date codes on these manifolds are also often very hard to read if they are not in near perfect original condition.

Any 1968-70 340 manifolds will fit & work fine.

There is a difference in the different years. Some have the recessed part numbers and some have the raised numbers. Not sure which is correct for your application, but sure someone will chime in. As for price, unless they are really pitted, $600 is a fair price.

I sold a very nice matched pair with 99.9% NO pitting. The heat riser had been removed was the only drawback that I could see. They went down the road for $750 and the guy who bought them was totally satisfied with them.

Thanks, my stock ones were stamped and the ones I am looking at are raised. They were # 2863553 and the ones I am looking at are # 2863549
