What switch do I need for an idiot oil light?

What switch do I need for an idiot oil light? - 09/19/17 10:35 PM

Had the wrong sending unit on our 440 so dash oil gauge was inoperative,
Put a manual gauge in other galley port until I got the correct unit from E-Berg.

Would like to have a warning light at eye level to possibly save an engine
and need someone's guidance on type of switch and wire diagram if possible.

Thanks, Joe

You need a standard "idiot" light sender to screw into the block. You then install the light in the dash and feed one terminal from a "run" position hot circuit--you need to find one under the dash, not hard.
The other side of the light goes to the terminal on your new sender.

The light will come on anytime the key is turned to "run" and will go out as soon as oil pressure (usually about 7-10 lbs) causes the circuit in the sender to open.

Also Marshall gauges has a electric gauge that has programmable high, and low settings that will alert you, and a out put just for an idiot light .

Thanks guys, I'll do the Pacnorthcuda set-up since it's the easiest
with engine in the car, more room back there for a wrench on the pass. side port.
