AMD big block valve covers..?? Any good??

Are the valve covers sold by AMD of good quality and worth the 200 dollar asking price??

I think the quality is fine, I have the 64 MW covers and they seal pretty decent with the correct Superformance gaskets. I don't recall them being $200 though.

This last batch seems to be pretty good. We've sold some and not had any complaints. We get $180 plus shipping for the plain ones.

I got 3 sets, ZERO issues, I would suggest the OP purchase directly from AMD or a vendor that can assure him that they are the current releases, as the first round had bad fitment/shape issues, and some are still out there, esp on Ebay....DAMHIK

Thanks for the info....best price ive seen was 189.00 W free shipping...I heard one story of someone elongating some of the holes for fitment...screw that!! Good idea asking for the current releases !!

Got mine from Summit last year. Fit was good, with the exception that 2 wiring tabs on the pass side were missing. They sent me another new pair and no issues, fit good. First thing before painting is put a gasket on it to make sure the holes match up. They matched up perfect for me on both pairs. Summit also sent and paid for shipping to return the old ones. Service was great for me. I assume they have the later batch.

I just got a set of the 1969 big block AMD covers this summer from Dixie. Dixie had the best prices, $180.00 with free shipping. No problems with the covers so far. Happy with them.

A timely post for me too. I am in need of s set of BB valve covers so I was also wondering about the AMDs. It is for a '74 Charger, so the '71-'72 AMD would be about the closest available.

Is it a bad idea for anyone to clean a used set (rusty insides) over the cost of these new?

Cleaning a used set is pretty standard. If they are in good shape, that is what I would do.
