HI I am getting ready to start my 440 six pack motor,i am trying to get the oil up by turning the oil pump with a drill, nothing is coming out the push rods to the rockers do I need a high speed drill to turn the shaft?

Turn the engine 90* to open the cam passage the the rockers.

Are you turning counter clockwise?
Did you change to pushrod oiling? Standard is up through rocker stand into rocker shafts, then to rockers.

put the dampener slit to TDC on #6 compression & preoil one bank then turn the dampener back 3/4 turn CCW (guestimate or cut a strip of paper 17.082" to use as a ruler) then preoil the other bank. I like to get it on #8 first during assy then preoil then go forward to the slit for #6 then I just have to back it up slightly to 15 deg to set the timing all of which minimizes the amt the camshaft being turned.

I should hope not. 440's do not oil out the pushrods.
Chevies do though, might want to reconsider.

As said above, turn the engine, reverse the drill and NO you dont need a high speed drill, you need a powerful drill turning slow.
