Tremec TKO clutches - 07/17/17 12:57 AM

I want to replace the generic clutch that a shop put in my car, since it's apart anyway.
What other applications take a 26 spline 10 1/2" clutch?
It's in a small block '72 B body.

I believe it is a standard GM specification. When I needed a new clutch, I called Silver Sport and they fixed me up.

Per my understanding, there are at least 4 "levels" for these clutches: 1) standard GM replacement from parts store, Rock Auto, Amazon ect. 2) standard replacement pressure plate with high clutch disc friction lining 3) high end single stage with metallic/Kevlar lining for higher torque 4) multi-disc setup.

What you need depends on what you are running... and how you run it.

Mine is a 26 spline 5008.
I think it's splined for a Ford but I have no idea what.

26 spline is great but what is the input shaft diameter? Diameter and spline count are both required to source a clutch disk.

The TKO 600 #5008 input is 1 1/8" X 26-spline. Common to the '86-'00 Mustang GT.

Thanks, John!
Can you recommend one for my '72?
QuickTime bellhousing, small block.
The fine folks who did my trans swap put in a stock replacement type.
Not 100% sure, but I think I'm limited to a 10 1/2" clutch w/that bell.
