It came out of a '68 built in St. Louis. Nov 2, 1967 build (I'm not sure if that's the date the trans was built or if SPD of the car, but I suspect the trans).

The input shaft depends on whether it was just cut short or cut short and turned smaller to fit a GM (was quite common). You can run the cut down shaft with the pilot bearing that fits the crank snout. It will decrease the value some, though.

11/02/67 = transmission assembly date
12/13/67 = car's "scheduled" production date

if it has always been an 18-spline,
then it was from a HEMI Road Runner OR 440/HEMI GTX

Ya gotta remember that production of '68 parts started in mid/late '67 so, in any model year, parts dated after late in a year are for the next year's model.

2288 is not the 228th day of 1968

it's the 2288th day of the 10000 day calendar

No problem. It's that last 8 that threw you. If it had been built a week later 2295 you would have known it was a different kind of calendar.
