3-speed wiper motor conversion

3-speed wiper motor conversion - 06/29/17 02:54 PM

I am finally replacing the original 2-speed wiper motor on my 69 Road Runner with a refurbished 3-speed motor from "Passion 4 Mopars". I unbolted and removed the original and replaced it with the new 3-speed unit. My question is with regard to the positioning of the under-dash arms that attach to the wiper motor. Does anyone have a diagram or installation manual for this swap? I have the replacement 3-speed switch, but it is not installed yet. Tom

I did the swap on my 69 Roadrunner also. If you don't already have it you have to get a 3 speed crank arm and bushing for a 69 B body for the linkages to line up properly. At one point there was someone making the crank arms because I found original ones hard to come by. You could check with Kim at Passion and see if she has any also. I can try and find some pictures of my setup but it would be tomorrow before I can post them

you'll need two things a 3 speed switch and the correct arm. The 2 speed arm WILL NOT work with the 3 speed. Do NOT use it or you will burn up the 3 speed motor quick.

Thanks for the responses. I have the arm and switch. Looking for orientation of the arm to the motor drive shaft. The drive shaft has flat sides on it. It seems to me that the XXXXXX273 arm and bushing rotate on the end of the under dash arm system. I am wondering what the installed orientation of the arm and bushing are while the wiper motor is in the parked position. Tom

Can only go on one way ...two sides are flat BUT one end is round and the other is flat.
