e body header panel i.d.71 or 72?

anyone know if this is a 71 or a 72.i took pics of the bottle shaped holes on the underside for the grille i'm assuming.thanks for any info,kent

Im curious to know what the difference is in the 72+ and the 71 header. I know its a different part #. AMD couldnt tell me the difference when I was ordering the parts to convert my 74 to a 71.

the reinforcement isn't on my pre-production '71's grill support/header

pic of a spring '71 'cuda w/reinforcement (is it actually an early/late '71 issue also?) or does the tab on the end point in a different direction?

My 74 is buried in the end of a 40' connex box. If I could get to it I would compare the new AMD 71 part to my original 74.

Looks just like the one I pulled off my 72 yesterday. It has the reinforcement plate also.

The "reinforcement plate" is actually for mounting the horns on.

so ..... for '71 the horns are mounted behind the washer bottle on the passenger inner fender

to make room for the "new for '72" charcoal canister on the passenger side inner fender, the horns were moved to the modified center grill support

..PLUS...the 'bottle shaped ' openings face opposite to 72-up on this true 71 valance, 3 one way , one the other.
Not just as simple as removing the bracket to make a 72 grill header become a 71.
The 4 'openings' that take the plastic threaded grommet on a 72 header will not line up with the corresponding support areas on a 71 grill without reworking these areas.
