Will these wheels fit my car?

So I want to make my car a little more fun by being able to sling it through some curves. It's never gonna be a road racer but the basics are add rear sway bar to go with the front bar already there, already have bigger torsion bars and upgraded to a SG rear with 3.23s from a 1971 b body. Rebuilt front suspension. Still need to do Firmfeel stage 2 or 3, and I plan on swapping to tubular upper and lower control arms and better shocks. That's it to make it fun.

The last thing is the wheels. I have 22" on there now that I just use for cruising around and the low profile tires really improved my cornering. I plan on going 18 or 20" with a little more rubber than what I have now but still a low profile. I came across these 20" set of 5 for sell for $800. American Racing with 5.5" backspacing and 8.5" wide. They came off a newer Charger and have the 5x115mm wheel pattern. Will these fit my car with the 5x4.5". Everything I look up alternates between yes and no.

You will probably need more negative wheel offset.

That would push the wheel out away from the car as that number changes correct? To make sure there is no rubbing on the frame, etc?

I wish I knew the specs of what I have on there now. They were on a Ford Crown Victoria before I got them. I threw them know and they didn't run so I bought them. Never asked for specs.

There have been instances where people on FABO had problems with 5x115mm on 5x114.3mm hubs. I don't recall the details, but I think sheared studs.

You can get a new set of those with a wide variety of widths on Summit for $800-1000. I don't know B-bodies, but usually the '71 and newer B-bodies have a lot of room for tires under the fender wells.

Sheared studs? I will pass then. Not worth the risk.

Personally I'd pass but FYI 5 x 4.5" is 5 x 114.3.

Not that I'm at all recommending bending the wheel studs but 0.7mm is the difference in the 2 bolt circles. Which means each wheel stud needs to bend 0.35mm. It's very close and that's why so many people have done it knowingly and unknowingly without problems.

Again I do not recommend but do not believe bending a wheel stud 0.35mm will shear it off.
