Large rim fitment with future brakes

So I had another thread recently about brakes and don't want to rehash that but it will tie into this one. I will eventually get either the 11.75 or 13" front brake kit from Dr diff. I want to go with a smaller/lighter rim than what I have now, but still larger than stock, and want it to fit and clear the 13" kit if I go that route. I like the Torque Thrust II style wheel and came across these on ebay. They don't have the stepped appearance so they are a little difference and give me a classic look with the modern lip.

These should clear even the 13" set with room to spare correct? 4.5 backspace should be good to go on either set.

I've used a bunch of those before (I deal with the Wheel Group who makes them) and had good luck with them in general, but haven't used them with a DrDiff 13" kit as far as fitment goes particularly. Diameter wise they'll be fine, just a matter of caliper clearance to the spoke would be all..

I think I've mentioned this to you before but that car is my favorite 4 door of all just the way it is! It just looks "right" to me.

Jwilli500: Thanks. It doesn't look as good as the pic anymore. Paint shows its age and flaws. Time for a repaint but that will be last. I want to rewire the car, do the full interior, upgrade the brakes, add rear swaybar, firm feel box and tubular UCAs, stiffening plates for LCAs, and LIGHTER WHEEL AND TIRE COMBO! Lol.

These are 22" with low profile tires. I love the look and they were fine for cruising and they improved the cars handling and response dramatically. But the are HEAVY. So after I hit some curves in my daily driver on some back roads during a little road trip I have the urge to make the old boat handle better and take some curves. And I'll still be able to cruise it. And a lighter wheel and tire package is part of that transformation plan. It doesn't hurt that I can switch to a style that I've been eyeballing for years.

I have the 13 Dr. Diff "Cobra" brakes on the front, and the 11.75"?? Kit on the back.

Rims are 17" Coys C-55's

By all means, I'm not trying to talk you out of anything bud. I'm not normally a 4 door guy or a 22" wheel guy but your car allways "speaks" to me!

Thanks a lot. I've found that a lot of guys who don't normally like big rims haven given me compliments on the car. I think it's because the wheel wells are so huge on this car it makes it seem like the rim is smaller than it is. 15" wheels just look way too small on this car by comparison.

I'll see if I can find a pic of this cars sister that I used to own with some 15" wheels on it.
