What date was the 67 GTX introduced?

It's got to be close to 50 years. I'm looking for the GTX's birthday, like the date that it was introduced to the press, or when the 1st one was built. So I can have a party to celebrate 50 years of my favorite muscle car!

not sure of exact date , but mine was purchased December of 66

My green gtx was shipped 9 28 66

Generally Chrysler started the next model year production on August 1st of the prior year.

I have one built and shipped on 9-27-1966

I have three of the 67 GTX and one R/T for the party!

Hopefully Carlisle does something to honor the first GTXs and R/Ts next year. While I never owned either one, both are some of my favorites.

If you go to the library and look through Automotive News on microfilm, you should find the announcement. It's prob sometime early in Sept. 1966.

the '67 Plymouth Fury, Belvedere, & Valiant lines went on public sale "officially" Thursday, 9/29/66

the '67 Plymouth Barracuda didn't make its public sales debut until Friday, 11/25/66

Just celebrate August 1st through September 29th and you'll be good
