Harmonic Balancer - 06/09/16 03:23 AM
Putting together a LA 318 and I wire-brushed the harmonic balancer clean and shiny. Is it OK to prime and paint? Or will that mess up the balance?

Nope. You need to bring everything to the machine shop to be rebalanced WITH the painted balancer.
Haha.

It is a sign of the board's craziness that you are even asking that question. The answer is no, no, a thousand times no!!!!
There's a long distance and quite a lot of money between "good" and "good enough".

If ya keep the paint from drying you'll have the cheapest fluid damper ever! Self Balancing!
All kidding aside.. go ahead and paint it up!
