O-ring size for the power steering pressure hose?

I'm replacing the power steering gearbox on a 1973 Duster. I'm re-using the pressure hose and noticed that the O-ring that is typically on the end of the power steering gearbox end of the hose is missing. Does anyone happen to know what the size of the O-ring is so I can pickup a replacement O-ring? Also, who tends to carry this particular O-ring in stock?

I was trying to find one locally, if possible. Figured that someone on this forum might likely know what size the O-ring is to keep me from having to remove the hose from the pump. Thanks for the bump.

yes any hardware store or napa will have the correct size o-ring. o-rings are sized by a number. I cant remember offhand what the exact one you need is. I had called steer and gear and they told me exactly what size to get.

Is the hose installed? if not take it with you and get the correct one. Or try your local dodge dealer.

Yes, the hose is installed. I was trying to avoid removing it from the pump.

are you sure there is supposed to be one? don't know about A bodies but my RR doesn't have o rings in the hose.

Interesting thought. I've always seen them on the end of the power steering high pressure hoses in the past. When I removed it from the old steering gearbox, I did not see it and assumed that it got lost.

same theory as brake lines. maybe somebody at some point jammed one in there to try and stop a leak but i've never seen one come that way.

I believe I figured out the O-ring size for the high pressure power steering hose end that goes into the steering gear - the steel end of the hose measured out to be 1/4" in diameter. I forgot that I had an O-ring assortment in the garage and when I checked closer, a R-05 O-ring fit it perfectly.
