Ramcharger air box - 03/01/16 03:53 PM

I thought all ramcharger air box had 9 rivets and 8 bolts. Here is a picture that says the opposite. Any thoughts on this?

I think it has been off the hood before and the person who reintalled the unit could not find the correct rivets. So, he took some of the bolts from the sides of the boxes and threaded them into the hood frame. Hence the missing bolt on the sides.

This came off a old super bee I have in storage. Look at the attachment areas for the bolts and u-nuts

69 was a combination of rivets and bolts, looks like Chrysler smartened up and changed that for 1970 , or sometime during the 70 model year ?

Yep my 70 is the same way. No rivets. Slots in the hood for the clip and bolts. August build 70.

I've seen several '70's that I believe to be original without any rivits, just the bolts and J nuts.

Here is another shot of a 70 hood that took the bolts with the u-nut. Convinced the 69 ramcharger was attached with rivets and the 70 ramcharger with bolt and u-nuts

I have had multiple 69 ramcharger/air grabber hoods over the years, all of the ductwork is riveted to the hood, the only bolts are on the outer ends near the fenders.
