SuperBrightLEDs and chrysler 1 wire sockets :( - 12/18/15 03:11 PM

Hey team, I keep having this issue when I try to replace an interior one-wire light bulb with the LED equivalent.

Take the glovebox light 1 wire, grounds to dash panel.
if pull the glove box light out and physically ground it to say
the glove box latch...the stock bulb lights up..as it should!

When I replace the bulb with the LED equivalent...which fits
the socket perfectly...I can never get it to work...

Same with the ashtray light.... etc..

Does anybody know why? its supposed to be a direct replacement
I have several and none of them work.... Bulbs are all brand new...

Anybody do this conversion?

What is the voltage at the socket? Incandescent bulbs work at sub-par voltages, LEDs not so much.

SWitch the polarity to the LED.

How do you switch the polarity?

These are both 1 wire sockets...not 2 wire

Check voltage at socket, and check if bulb is making contact with socket supply and ground.

Edit - check the bulb. A 9 volt battery may work or directly to the car battery. I use a battery charger on low, some leads with small alligator clips, and steady hands.

Some LEDs are polarity sensitive, as mentioned above, and some LEDs don't work properly unless they have the correct voltage, unlike an incandescent which just gets dimmer.
