Have I killed my Turbo Start Restoration Battery?

I have one of the AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) group 27 Restoration Batteries. I'm Pretty sure this battery is 15 years old. I could not find he receipt, but I know it was done during that last part of the restoration. (drive 2500 miles a year mostly in summer)

It as never failed me and starts and cranks strong every time up to this point.

when I was reinstalling the radiator I must have bumped the negative battery cable and it was brittle apparently it was almost broken off, but I couldn't see the break. I tried to crank the car over multiple times and finally it drained all the juice. When I went to inspect the cable connections again it just broke off in my hands.

I put new + and - cables. Jumped the battery drove around a little. 15 min later it wouldn't start.

jumped it and took it over to my mechanic. He said it was the voltage regulator. Got a new one, jumped the battery and drove it home. 15 min later it is dead again. Mechanic said the battery appears to not be holding a charger. But...

Charged it for an hour yesterday with a battery charger. Started up and drive great yesterday. 3 times both hot and cold. Took it on several short trips today and a 10 mile drive.

It started several times both hot and cold. Seemed to charge up right a way (dash amp meter) and not discharging to any degree.

A new one of these Turbo start batteries is $320 from Remy.
Am I just fooling myself to think it will last a little longer? Am I just running of the charge from the battery charger and it will crap out in a couple of days?

Wait a few days and see what happens.

If you've got 15 years out of it you did very well...I thought I did well with 9 years on the last one...Time will tell if it holds or not... Now it's a waiting game to see the results...If the vehicle's charging system is in good working order it should keep the charge up...

I think the new pricing is over the top I'll be looking at converting a few of my resto batteries and see if the price becomes reasonable again...

I've had two Turbo Start batteries in 23 yeays,one wet,one sealed.I bought a 875 CCA group 27 from NAPA,took the caps from the old Turbo Start and put them on the NAPA battery.In the past 4 months at least a half dozen people ask where I bought my Mopar battery,unless they pay attention most would never know.

You might check the cranking voltage at the battery next time but it sure sounds like the battery is done. sometimes even if a good battery is discharged all the way it will kill it. Agreed, 15 yr life is unheard of! what I'd do is toss in another battery from one of your other Mopars & that would confirm that all is good in the 'hood ex the battery

That one is sealed,removed the original caps,removed the threads from the Mopar caps and re sealed.

The "early" script shows out of stock but I ordered this one "late" script. Don't know what the difference is and didn't care. I was wrong about price it's $250.
Just got my car running this week and battery is perfect.

Pretty sure the difference between the early and late batteries are the part number on the top of the case...All other aspects are the same...Most would'nt know the difference unless you've already went through it trying to purchase one...
