Electric fuel pump leaking from case - solution? - 05/15/15 02:12 AM
Hey,
I've got the car out in the driveway cuz it's dripping fuel (from a fresh full tank of gas, of course).
I can see it's dripping from the case of the electric fuel pump. It's a Chinese knock off of a Holley, a cylindrical can in the upright position.
I tried tightening every nut on the cover plate and screws on the end of the 'can' with no improvement. Is there any typical solution - other than assuming the main pump seals are shot and the fuel pump is now garbage?
I think I just answered my own question and I'm starting to siphon the tank empty now, but any experiences with this kind of failure is appreciated.
Thanks,

Here is the pump when I installed it two years ago…
Here it is being lifted up in place.
Here is the bottom where it is dripping from..
