Can anyone tell me the capacity of the rear sump truck pan on a 440?I have one I am going to use on a bracket car with ground clearance restrictions.

Pretty sure they were 6 qt capacity IIRC.

Trucks were always 6 quarts with the filter. The dipsticks never were correct. From new at the dealership we would add 5 run it for a minute let it sit 1/2 hour and trim the tube as needed to read 1 quart low. Then add the 6th quart.

if running small filter it will take a little less, but big filter 6 quarts

Yep. My Mopar Performance one from Summit is a 6 qt pan.

Here is your pre-magnum trucks rule of thumb:
Small block: 6 quart total oil change.
Big block:6.5 quart oil change low deck and 7 quart tall deck. And if you are smart, you will run a proper big block filter on either one as they fit both.
Big block RV: ad 1/2 quart across the board.

my factory 77 440 cannot run big filter .there is a pulley in front of it so depends on the pulley system u use
