Not too aweful long ago there was a thread about someone building a replica of the factory alternator tightening tool. DId he ever market it? If not are there any other sources?

Kevin what gets tightened? The pulley is pressed on/off. What am I missing bro

I've always just grabbed it from underneath and pulled up while tightening with the other hand.

Unless you do this on multiple cars everyday, seems like a waste of money.

You know the to tighten the electrical system, as in "your electrical system is so tight dude"..........Nope they got it, the tool to tighten the belt with better control.

I'm pretty sure member Resq302 is the fellow here that made and sells them.

After almost 50 years Ive never used one.I do have a tool for GM tylpe alts that I used at work because some were tough to get to.I guess if you like to spend $$$ its worth it.Rocky

I agree. You can get it plenty tight this way. If you're really worried about it, pull up with both hands and have someone else tighten it down.

With the tool, I'd be worried about busting one of the fins off of the case.
