Hurst V-GATE Shifter - 11/04/14 04:50 PM
what ever happened to the Hurst Vertigate shifters ?
I had one in a 68 charger and it loved it - does anyone still make one or an equivalent ? Wish I could find one...

They don't make them any more. E-bay would probably be your only choice. I have the Mr. Gasket V-Gate shifter in mine.
If you really want one buy this one from Long shifters. Many improvements since the originals came out in the early 70's. They are adaptable to New Process transmissions.

Yes sorry they are still as big as the old ones. The kit for a Muncie is easy to adapt over. Dimentions are close enough on things. Have to shorten the rods some if I'm not mistaken, but overall it isn't that bad. Much better piece than the old ones. If you spend the extra $$$ you can even get it in a pistol grip just like the pro-stock drivers use.
Thanks, Ken

Had one in my 69 Charger for a lot of years. Maybe five years ago I happened across a 70 console pistol grip with short throw box. The Vgate handle now selects direction in my golf cart. I gave away the rest of it. I finally got to reinstall my shifter plate on the console after almost 20 years and have and awesome looking shifter in the cart.
