HURST SHIFTER FOR CONSOLE PISTOL GRIP HANDLE??? - 08/01/14 10:18 PM

I have a 1966 Charger with a 1970 Pistol Grip handle. I need a new shifter mechanism and linkage. I don't see anything listed on Hurst's website for a Console 1970 Super Bee, only non-console. Does it really make a difference for the shifter mechanism and the linkage?

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK they are the same, only the handle changed.
I have disassembled many over the years.

The 1970 Pistol Grip B-body mechanism was unique to 1970 and to B-body cars. It was stamped 7174 on the side of one of the shifter lever fingers. Both console and non console mechanisms were the same. The long finger was made slightly longer so your hand would not slam into the dash during the 2-3 shift, they "sort of" worked.

If you tried hard, you could still mash your knuckles on the 2-3,
