I bought an A100 van that has no engine or transmission. Is the trans in the pic what I need? Is it an A100 only tail housing?

That looks like the correct one. I don't know if B series vans and some motorhomes used this also.

I'm pretty sure that's a motorhome trans with the fixed yoke but an A100 is the same style but with a slip yoke. I'm not sure if that tail housing can be converted to a slip yoke or not. I've seen it done on Turbo 400 truck transmissions.

Looks correct and yes, you can change tailshafts. I'm doing an A100 truck right now & had to switch over to a newer 7272 as the old TF that uses 2 cables was too complicated & difficult to get cables for......

that looks like the a100 trans mount. the other lugs on the end of tail housing is used for motor home chassis.
you can build a drive shaft with a splined slip yoke to work or swap the output shaft/tail hosing to a slip yoke style.
myself..unless it needs to be correct, I would build a driveshaft and run it. I used a shortshaft 727 from a 76 clubcab in my 68 Dart for yrs and only had to build the drive shaft for it to work.

I am just trying to figure out what short shaft trans will work in the van. Doesn't have to look correct. In fact, the plan is to put a big block in it. Just want to use the original mount points if I can.

Note the bottom mount, the housing can be swapped, or a B van mount hanger used (modified to hang from the body down).

Most A100s I've seen have the ball and trunnion front joint. I've heard they changed to slip yokes later, but I don't have one of those.
I may go BB in my 66, which will use the solid yoke and a slip joint drive shaft. They can be built strong enough for rock crawlers, so this should be fine.
If you have a 108, most transmissions can be adapted. Since your sig mentions a 100, you need a short trans. The B van trans and mount can be modified to work.

rod, the divorced transfer case transmissions i have are from smallblocks, and don't have the provision for the upper[body hanging] mounts. were those only bigblock/motorhome deals ?

Not sure on that. I haven't crawled under enough motor homes to say, and you get into B van conversions (Class C), forward control (class A) with different chassis, and such. Many of the motorhomes from the late 60s and 70s had the drum emergency brake on the back of the tailhousing too, which is a whole added complexity.
I did a search and found this picture of a 64 sweptline with the E brake. That explains the two 'ears' on the top back of the housings.

FYI/DETAILS..this looks like the BB-727 I got from a 1-1/4 ton chassis MH. looks like the 3 5/8" u-joint yoke. this short housing is different than most other short shaft housings. does not have the forward hanging mount/pad needed for a100 and output shaft/tail housing is little longer than most shorty 727.
when I tried to bolt in in my 85 truck with the 440, I found that the trans mount(like in the pic) was moved forward 2" = 5" from main case. and that the speedo plug was behind the mount. my stock cross member did not fit.
when I checked my SB 727 shorty from the club cab it had the mount 7" from main case like all 904/727 long tail shaft auto in 2x car/trucks with speedo in front of mount.
the other odd thing I found with this trans is it used the 65-71 truck trans mount with the bolts further apart and the mount is flat (like in the pic) so the stock 72-87 truck trans mount did not fit.
I had to build a cross member to use it in my 440 truck and move it forward 2" for it to bolt in and cut the lugs of the top of tail housing to clear the floor pan.
I was able to swap the 3 5/8" yoke with a small 7260 bolt on yoke from another SB 727 shorty. the spline count is the same on all of them from what I found using them.
no help to the OP but interesting details when looking at them close up. I look at all of them in the JY now.

I was kinda thinking that's what the top rear lugs might be for. looking at the trans mount that is a flat one with a raised mount of some type.
