Have you got any PM's here from flippers on it yet??

Just quick glance, looks like a 69 440-4bbl Charger R/T S/E TX9 black paint, tan interior, with bucket seat console.

plug all the info into http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=87

Post results here.

Probably some of the decoding will be wrong. But then people here will correct it and give you more details on it.

That online decoder is very handy. Good to try it out and get comfortable with it.

Have you decoded it at http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=87 Yet?

Takes less than 3 minutes to plug in info.

Please post results. Some of that info you typed was misread or typo'd.

Re: Fender tag decode help please! - 06/09/14 02:06 AM

So here's what's throwing me off, I knew it was a RT, but had no clue it was a SE... The console is gone and was replaced with a B&M shifter, and the dash panel is black, not woodgrain... Anyone know if a SE had SE badges on it?

SE badges on roofrail, leather seat inserts, and I think some other stuff.

BTW CR1 is most likely CRT which is tan seats with leather inserts.

That T3 must be mis-read or a typo too.

Ok that makes more sense.

Then 311 is the SPD date of March 11, 1969 ??

Looks like someone bondo'd over the emblem holes on the pillar... I thought it was just a script there... Did all SE's have the woodgrain dash inserts?

Yep.

Woodgrain can get scratched up over time and maybe someone painted it or changed it out for the regular type.

Is there an aftermarket radio? It originally came with 8 track stereo. Should have speakers on sides of dash too.

Maybe when changing the radio they may have hacked the original woodgrain plate and needed paint it. Woodgrain is hard to match so maybe switched everything?

40+ year old car and doesn't sound like a 100% complete virgin.

Yeah, radio is gone... Car has been untouched since 83, but who knows what someone did in the 70's!

I see blue and yellow plate. Original California car?

Not sure... But since the early 80's... Had the little square "pink" slip even!

No mention of sure grip or gears... Does that mean its a open diff?

69 should be black/yellow.

Also, if it was an early 70's plate it would be 3 number/3 letter combo. That plate looks to have numbers last.

The tag decoder is a good tool, but should be used along with other
select sources of information. In '69 G33 was a LH chrome remote
mirror. No racing mirrors until '70.
