Superbird center carburetor

Superbird center carburetor - 03/11/14 03:54 AM

I am about to send off the carbs for my Six Pack Superbird (auto) and noticed the center carb number is 4144. The front and rear numbers are 4382 and 4383. My books say the 4144 carb is for emission cars which this car is not. Could this carb be right? Date codes are good. Car is supposed to be all original. Any ideas?

Possible yes, likely, no. Sounds like either it was an early replacement (the single digit year date repeated each decade) or a factory error (very rare with those).

My guess is that it got changed somewhere down the line.
I'll have to get a 4376. Scott I may give you a call.

Thanks for the info.
