AR Engineering has the bracket you need. I believe this may be it.

Most of the early Mopar inatke manifolds for BB V8 did not come with any provisions to mount a bracket to hold the kickdown linkage the pivot, if it was a three piece kickdown set up, was on the throttle cable bracket IHTHs, BTW a Lokar cable set up may be your best and only choice if you don't want to make a brqcket for your kickdown linkage. What size and year motor are you working on?

A picture of the linkage you are using and/or a description of the linkage would be helpful .

Good point John, Car in the pic using the stock kickdown linkage that came in the 67 coronet.. rods and belcranks..
I have seen a bracket for sale that mounts under the carb, but I believe that its only for the throttle cable..
I guess this intake is for manual transmissions only??

67 coronet, stock 440/727... Not really interested in using a Lokar after market K/D linkage...

??? just bolt it where it goes normally, to the last intake bolt. I HATED the Lokar on my old 67, I tore it off after one day at the track and went back to the stock piece.

If you are using the stock linkage now it doesn't bolt to the intake ???

Since you have a 440 already how is it currently connected ? What intake are you swapping to and what carb are you running ???

As Mr Yuck said. The two rearmost intake bolts on the drivers side hold the bracket.

that's the 1 piece linkage , he has the 3 piece , but it's the same concept of how it bolts on , last intake bolt holds the bracket. This is what he should currently have .

Based on my memory that pic is the correct bracket but it bolts into the same hole as the throttle cable bracket does, as in the above pic with the incorrect 1pc linkage NOT to the intake to head bolts. Do any Aluminum intakes come with this or do I need to purchase the aftermarket bracket from the second poster??

Man I think you need to just post a pic up of what you have going on there

All intakes are the same, NO special provisions for any brackets or levers.

Re: BB Aluminum intake question - 02/07/14 09:54 PM

I solved this problem 10 years ago when I designed the taller kickdown bracket for B and RB engines. I've sold a few thousand of those brackets over the past decade. I designed my brackets to work with the Performer RPM intakes, but they'll fit others as well as long as the height isn't too different from the RPM.

NO the throttle cable AND the kickdown linkage both bolt to the EXACT SAME BRACKET, see that silver clamp on top , that's where the throttle cable goes USE WHAT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE .... there is no big block intake ... except the 440 6pk and maybe the Max Wedge dual quad ... where any bracket bolts to the intake itself ... the picture with the 1 piece linkage also use a bracket that bolts to the engine by way of the intake bolts, it uses 2 instead of 1 and the throttle linkage bolts to it also.
