727 full manuel transmission ??? - 11/30/13 07:46 AM

The tran's that came with the dart was already rebuilt, i assumed it was just a stock rebuild as the seller did'nt brag about the goody's that it had been built with. today while getting ready to bolt it to the motor before i install it i noticed the top of the shift point had been chopped off. It's the shaft that the kick down arm would bolt to, any idea's what's up with that....why would some one do that? (see attch)

Since you should at least pull the pan to change the filter and oil you can see what has been done to the throttle pressure arm and valve body.

By the looks of the line connection and shift arm that tranny has been sitting for a while so a rebuild might be in order.

Some valve body builders cut the "kickdown" shaft off on their manual valve bodies.

When building a MVB I always cut the shaft off to avoid confusion with a full auto VB. There really isn't any other reason to do it.
