Id pump some solvent through it then follow with starting fluid..

Type F is the same stuff that B&M sells as Trick Fluid. I hear that useing type F results in a tad firmer shifts.

You can buy a flush that is specifically made for cleaning lines and coolers , it's in a spray can , use it and follow with compressed air .

Mark lots of guys run the Type F. You may notice it may make your trans run slightly hotter as a byproduct but nothing crazy. One of my friends likes to run half type F and half dexron so that it doesn't run too much hotter, I think hes crazy, but I'd run whatever the builder recommends.

Mmmmmmmm i have never heard someone doing that but hey it may work great....
I am going by what the previous owner ran and he used type f and loved it. Plus my trans cooler is a very good one with a fan keeping it cool should not be a issue i hope.!

I have used the flush and it is good when I have it available.

Often I don't so I disconnect the cooler lines an pump about 1/3 a can of spray Carb cleaner in one line. I attach a fuel line to the other line and put it in a gallon jug. I blow compressed air through the line and the cleaner& trans fluid spews into the jug. I repeat, swapping the direction of the flush each time until I feel good about how clean it is.

I do the flush when I take the trans out so
1. I don't have trans fluid leaking everywhere.
2. The lines have more time to dry out before I reconnect them.

The exception is that I don't flush them if the lines are going to sit open for a while. I don't like the though of rust or creepy crawly things getting in the clean lines.

If it ain't in the car right now & I gathered from the quote that it ain't then what Shorty said, pour some solvent in it & blow it out with your rubber tipped shop air nozzle (go both ways) & if your solvent tank has a pump then pump some solvent thru both ways. If it's in the vehicle then get the pressureized can of flush that comes with a hose at your parts house to attach it to one of the cooler fittings.

I use my parts cleaner and hook it in line with the cooler, and let it run for 20-30 min,and then use the flush....it better be clean,or it will suck the trash right into the new trans

Remove or replace the filter(unless it is a screen type filter), do not run cleaning fluids through it(paper type )
