08 Ram 1500 Spark Plugs - 09/30/13 06:28 PM

Hey guys, I need to change the spark plugs in the mife's 08 ram 1500 5.7 Hemi.

Any suggstions on which plugs are best to use, or ones to avoid (I am not brand loyal in terms of plugs).

Are the E3 plugs any good in this application.

Thanks,

Jason

strongly suggest you use the OEM plugs - aftermarket plugs can cause strange drivability problems

I agree.
If you lurk around on dodgetalk or ramformz, the majority have tried other plugs and said oem champions or the ngk cross reference.
They don't need anything fancy

You can spend as much on these trucks as you do your hot rod
Moe's has the NGK plugs, and I'm sure your local store would have the champions

My 08 Ram got new plugs a 55K--I used the factory plugs from dealership--I hate Champions but hey..everyone says go with OEM so I did. Truck ran great before, same after and now has 98K. Factory says every 30K or so if I remember--Get yor mind right, get every little length extension even the 1 in one and take your time--#5 and #7 were extra fun. All in all not as bad as I thought.

My kids 04 Hemi were changed at 30K.He got Champion double platinums free from his buddy so he used them.Milage went up about 1 to 2 mpg. They have been in for 50K now.Still runs great.Use a dab of diaelectric on the boots and a dab of antisieze on the plug threads and also on the coil over bolts.Rocky
