was wondering if a guy could install a 426 x-ram intake on a set of RPM eddy heads,that are NOT maxie ports??? I know there will be a performance decrease,but going for looks on a gasser project im planning...thanks,mike

A&A makes a cross ram with standard 440 ports mancini sells MRE440CM-15 no casting numbers

Eddy heads do have enough room to open up to match the max wedge port my buddies where done to max wedge size by Modern cylinder head. we did a set close to max wedge by hand but stopped just short we were matching a stock port intake to what we did anyway. I would go all the way now that i seen eddies done to max wedge by CNC.

Don't do it, you will hate the lack of power and the constant problems with back firing and reversion caused poor performance

Gasser need tunnel rams or stack injectors to look cool

No info on the Eddies but on a stock set of heads the Max manifold wont sea..

I have used the factory max wedge cross ram and both of the single 4bbl max wedge manifolds on stock cast iron heads

Wouldn't that manifold be the "street wedge" manifold, as opposed to the "max wedge manifold?"

There isn't enough material on the standard port heads to get a good seal around the ports on a MW intake. It might work for awhile, but eventually it fails.

Back in my street rat days I ran a cross ram on my 906 heads. It would work for a little while then the intake gasket would fail and I'd suck a ton of oil from the valley into the intake ports.

Chrysler had Dragmaster make these 4BBL intakes for the max wedge. I have both and have used both on 452 heads, the 2406185 is on a 440 in my 68 Coronet R/T as we speak. No failure in ten years of running. I also used a factory max wedge cross ram intake on these 452 heads.

On a side note, these 452 heads have been opened up to max wedge size intake and exhaust ports.

This mild 9.? compression ratio 440 runs and performs well with one 4BBL and it will knock out 18+ miles per gallon with the 3.54 gears and the OD 833 4speed.
