68 Charger dash wire harness

I have a chance to purchase a new in box wire harness for under the dash at a dicounted price from a friend of a friend. My car is a 68 Charger, his wire harness is for a 69 Charger. What are the differences if any and will this work? He says it will, of course he's the one selling it.

not sure what the differences are, but the reproduction harnesses do have different part numbers for 68 and 69. I don't really know what would be different, as the dash clusters are pretty much the same, radio, etc....could be something as minor as different color wires used...I know the 70 harness is different as the ignition switch and flasher/hazard switch got moved to the steering column...maybe find wiring diagrams for both and see if you can find any differences...

I am pretty sure the ignition switch and plug are different. The neutral safety switch is also different. 68 was in the car on the shifter or column and 69 was on the transmission. May be other differences.

Some other differences besides those already posted above that might affect the harness, but I do not know if they do or not;

68 - front park lights are off when headlights on
69 - front park lights are on when headlights on

68 - 69 heater controls are different
