Steel VS. Cast Crankshafts

I consider myself a Mopar guy until we talk cranks. How do you tell which is a steel crank and which is a cast crank. Out of engine and still in an engine, maybe even still in the car? Thanks and sorry for the stoopid post.

Simple test, if you hit it while suspended (the crank, not you) and it rings like a bell is a forged crank.

If not, then it's either a cast crank or a bad forged one.
