06 Grand Cherokee 4.7L problem - 11/22/08 07:55 PM
I've got a vibration through the engine, the back of the serpentine belt is slick with greasy stuff, and the fan blade wobbles when the engine is running. When I loosen the belt I can wobble the fan by hand quite a bit.
Does this sound like the water pump has bit the dust? How horrible of a job is that?

i noticed my fan clutch has a bit of wobble, but its running fine, i'll change the water pump at the same time i do the clutch while its all apart.

yeah, starting to think it's a fan clutch problem, fan spins freely by hand, no tension on it. ugh.

Sounds like the clutch is still fine if he has tu loosen the belt to wiggle it. If that is truly the case it is a bad water pump
