Are these leaf springs worth buying? - 01/06/13 04:58 AM

Does anyone know if these are a good buy and would fit my 1969 Plymouth Belvedere? Just looking to replace my worn out stockers..

Yeah,

Getting them sent to my father in law in

Since they carry John RR's name , then if he endorses these they must be OK

Just because JC Whitney sells them, doesn't mean they are junk. I have read good things about JohnR springs for years.

John R Spring has always been based in Detroit MI (actually a NE suburb known as Troy). Dunno where their springs are actually made but they've been in business since the 70's or earlier (their website says 35 yrs). They may actually get their springs from Eaton Springs (just a guess/speculation), also based in Det. for many years.

I did a few "Will Call" pick-up runs back around 2002 and they were good folk to deal with..............

Trivia here.................The name "John R" is the road that their first store was probably located on, hence the name.

Yep...

The group of heathens that I loosely associate with has been dealing with John R spring for years...

Talk to the owner...

So if you are driving to Florida take the 401 down to Detroit and either pick the Johnie R springs up or go over to Mancinis and pick up theirs. You will have a couple of choices depend on your application. If you are going at the end of the month see what Sunday the WPC swap meet in on and pick them up there and enjoy buying all kinds of things you dont need.

Actually they sell JR springs and some have gotten springs from the same factory in Mexico that ESPO does. FYI

Re: Are these leaf springs worth buying? - 01/07/13 11:16 PM

Not going down until May, just wanna to get a jump on this. Everyother time I have waited until the last minute and either missed something or paid to much to get it.

Thanks, will call ESPO and get an idea of what I need and likely make a descision...I want to lift the car a little but 4 inches over stock may be too much..

Anyone have a pic of a B-Body with exact spring rated lifts and tire diameter that can show me a pic?

Thanks

Never mind on those JC springs, called up JR Springs direct. The JC part numbers are all wrong according to JR Springs. So I'd end up with Truck springs...ah no...

Gotta place a call to ESPO and get some pricing with shipping..

Here is another vote for John R Springs. They're right down the street from me. Made it pretty easy picking up a pair of 5 leaf springs.
