Anyone ever seal up their oil pan with The Right Stuff?

If so,how well did it work and what was your technique?

Thanks!

It works very well but it is a pain if you ever have to remove that oil pan!!. It almost sticks too well for my liking.

Don't do it One of the local racers bought a motor that had been sealed up with that stuff, it was horrible to take apart I use clear adhesive silicone sealant to help seal the gaskets

After I siezed an HV oil pump (immediately shut down was ok) in my 360 based 408 I used that stuff to seal the oil pan. My technique was upside down in a ditch cursing and praying no wind sprayed my bottom end with dirt.

It's been holding up ok I guess- three or four years now. If you have time and space to do it right I would use cork and rtv. That black rtv sticks pretty dang good itself! Had all the bolts out of an intake and almost lifted the car off the ground using a crane and carb plate to pull it.

Do it. No need for gasket unless they provide spacing.

I love it, sets up in seconds, literally tighten and drive. So you have to use a thin scraper to disassemble, so what? There's a reason OEMs use it.

Don't expose it to gasoline, that's its Kryptonite.

Sometimes I'm convinced that this board is made up of old ladies and people who'd complain if their ice cream was too cold.

I use it with gaskets on the oil pan and windage tray, I can take the pan off with a knife and a hammer no problem. Keep in mind that I take the engine out to do it. I can yank the engine in about an hour and a half and put it on a stand. I would not try it in the car with the Right Stuff. It is physically easier for me to pull the engine.
