Will a Lean Burn Car start without the computer ? - 11/18/12 09:56 AM
I'm dealing with a 1978 Dodge Magnum XE with 400-4bbl. The Lean Burn computer and air cleaner were stolen off of it(poor stupid thief).
As of right now it turns over, but doesn't want to fire off. I'm wondering if this due to the computer being gone, or if the humidity has wiped out the plugs in the month the air cleaner has been gone.
Thanks.

What CC said, get any vacuum advance 383/400 dist, an ECU pentastar connector/pigtails and there was one for sale here recently for $28 to your door and a 2 terminal ballast of ~1 ohm or more & most you find will be that or above to be compatible with your current coil & the MP P5206436 ballast will work and a parts house generic 4 pin Mopar ECU (they're cheap & a much better/more reliable deal than the orange box that comes in the MP kit). EDIT If JY hunting grab the dist/harness/5 pin ECU/4 terminal ballast & probably the coil also & the wiring diagrams are in the archives

Well, no I guess you don't hava PM.
I can lend you a computer to try out the car.
PM me and I'll send you my phone #
In the meantime, you can use a points distributor, wire up the wire to the (-) side of the coil, and it should run.
Again, I can supply what you need, just let me know. And this ain't an ad, just offering to help out.
