1970 RoadRunner V88 Stripe Delete??

1970 RoadRunner V88 Stripe Delete?? - 11/12/12 03:50 AM

I am working on a 70 Runner with my daughters, and am wondering about the stripe delete callout on the fender tag. I am assuming that the V88 means the rear stripe delete. If it does, what goes on the decklid and quarter extension?? Is there any decal, or script on the decklid??
The original decklid on the car was gone, so I am not sure what it should have looked like. Does anyone have one of these and could shoot some pictures or give me a description?? It would be a big help.
Thanks Moparts!!

I assume this is a hardtop, as the coupe didn't have the trunk decal standard. I'd have to guess it would just have the "road runner" script but someone else should confirm.

My 70 Hemi Road Runner I used to own was coded for V88 stripe delete. It didn't have the deck lid stripe or the longitudinal dust trails. It had a Road Runner emblem on the deck lid like those on the quarter panels and only had the running bird decals at the fronts of the fenders.

It will look like the back of a Superbird. Emblems on lid and standing bird on right quarter extension.

All these guys are correct. The trunk lid gets an extra set of quarter panel "road" and "runner" (same emblems) + standing bird (same as inside passenger door)
