What was the typical size(s) of a front tire on a late eighties or early 90's diplomat cop car?

Goodyear F32 P215/70 R15 tires.

No such thing as an "early 90's Diplomat", last year was '89.

they came with 215/70/15 as J5440 mentioned.

From experience, I can tell you can run bigger for sure. I have 235/70/15 all the way around with no problem, and I know some have run larger in the rear at least, I just don't recall how large.

I ran P255/60R15's in the back with the only issue being one side rubbed when the car had a lot of weight in it (like 5 offensive linesmen worth of weight).

Other than that, no problems. Never tried that big a tire in the front. 87 Diplomat.

I have 225/60/15's that need replacing and that size is hard to find in a good tire. I like the low profile sidewall. What would be the next size down in width from mine that is readily available in a dunlop, goodyear or other decent brand?
Also, what is the smallest tire I can run safely on the front with a 15x7 wheel?
Thanks.

When I got some new 215/70-15's on the police rims I had on my old '72 Satellite, the tire place installed 205/70-15's by mistake. Drove a week before I noticed... I wonder how they crammed them on there! Isn't a 245/60-15 the same diamater as a 215/70?
