Mopar cast aluminum valve cover, which pcv? - 10/18/12 02:23 PM
Hello, I picked up a set of mopar bb cast aluminum valve covers and the recommended grommets. Now I can't find a pcv that will fit. What are you guys using with these valve covers? Thanks

Here is the supposedly correct, stock PCV valve.
http://www.classicindustries.com/mopar/parts/pcv180.html I think I used one similar, although I have the same setup as you. If you have a decent speed shop, or even just an OReillys around where you live, I suggest you bring your valve cover and grommet there and try out what they have until you find one that fits.

Any 3/4" pcv valve from a mid '70s GM V8 will work.

I bought billet breathers for my Jensen with MP aluminum valve covers, one has a built in PCV valve....

I cheated... A little work with a mill and the stock Mopar grommet fits great... Which means the stock PCV valve fits perfectly.. The stock push-in style breather works in one of the oil filler locations too...

Summit has the MP grommets for 12.95. Uses a stock pcv..

On mine, I tried several valves and couldn't find one that would stay in reliably. I fabbed a sheet metal strap to go over the top of the valve. It is held in place by two short needle point screws in the rubber of the grommet. No problem now.

Thanks guys. I put in the recommended grommets. And the factory PCV does not work with them. It's too big. I'll give a GM one a try.
