Removing alternator pulley - 08/21/12 02:37 AM

I bought March Pulleys for my engine but can't figure out how to get the alternator pully off to change it. I don't want to mess it up.

How does it come off? Any special tools/tricks?

Thanks

As said you need the tool. then seperate the alt case & take the front half in to have the March pulley pressed on. Make magic marker marks on the 3 sections to easily go back together with the correct clocking

When you go to reinstall the pulley make sure you have the rear of the shaft on a solid peice of iron when you tap the pulley back on or you will drive the shaft thru the armature.

A parts store might have that puller too, just use a hose clamp around the jaws to help hold then in tight.
