Anyone have experience with cleaning the black window sealant goop from the rear stainless trim?
I saw a post which indicated WD40 may work but it didn't seem to do much.

Fluid Film works great! Put it on the goop, let it soak in a few hours or a night and wipe off the mess with a dry towel.

I used Omni MS-251 spray gun cleaning solvent. You can get it from your PPG auto paint store or other brands may have a similar product ( Spray gun cleaning solvent). You will need plenty of rags or shop towels but it takes it right off.

Put mine in the solvent tank at work. Pointed the hose in the direction I needed and let it run down the trim. An hour later no goop.

Thanks for the replies.
Any thoughts on lacquer thinner?
It seems to be pretty potent stuff...
Would it play nice with the stainless?

Strong solvents won't bother the stainless. I've tried lacquer thinner before. It works but not as well as adhesive remover or paint stripper. I'd just goop them up with remover and let sit for a while. It all should wipe off.
