Looking at a 383 on ebay from Norms Speed shop...
Pad reads F383 R 5 1 HP
I know F is 70 block but the R 5 1?
Waiting on a vin#
Ebay item #120691401771 if your curious.

F = 1970 model year
383 = 383 cu. in.
R = regular fuel
5 1 = Friday 5/1/70, final engine assembly date
HP = 335hp engine (painted orange w/Holley 4bbl carb)

4-16-70 = casting date (Thursday 4/16/70)

I too would be interested in seeing the partial VIN#.
