Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag

Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 05/03/12 02:24 PM

Below is the decoded fender tag from my Charger. I have 2 questions on this.

1.) Is this a possibly a 2 tag car and I am missing one? Looks like some basic options are missing (top type, type of braking system, glass....)

2.) The registry says that A32 - Dana 60 Performance package was not available with A/C. This car has H51 Air. Does that make this a super rare combo (I know its rare to begin with...) or am I reading this wrong...

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 05/03/12 02:35 PM

The fender tag options look pretty typical of a 70 Charger R/T. This is not a 2 fender tag car as the stripe code & 26 are usually the last items on a St. Louis tag. The top color is on the tag as EK2, the power brakes are also noted as B51....you did not show the A32 option code in the correct order so I assume this car did not come with it. I assume you have a D32 as the second option code noted on the lowest line. This is for auto trans. Car sounds nice as optioned. How about a few photos?

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 05/03/12 02:38 PM

The 3 digit code right next to the engine code (E86)on the lower line is the transmission code, which should be D32 for an auto transmission (727). Most likely a mistake at the factory or a repro tag. Pics would do wonders here.

I didn't realize it wasn't on the option list, but this is a 4 speed car. The numbers all match still.

Pictures would solve the mystery.

You listed B51 Power brakes in your decoding.

The only thing "rare" about the car, is it has survived over the last 4 decades, nothing more, nothing less.....but it's a cool ride none the less

- A32 isn't available with H51....it isn't rare, it just isn't period.
- A32 shouldn't be on the tag in the order shown. It probably should be D32 - automatic tranny.
- A32 (superperformance axle package 4.10 Dana) isn't available on a 4spd car (would be A34 Super Track Pack)

I suspect either you've made a typo or the fender tag is a poor reproduction. tranny stamps may not be original.
Pics will tell the tale one way or the other, but don't post them if you don't really want to know.

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 05/03/12 05:09 PM

If it is an original 4 speed car the tag will have D21 as the second option code on the first line. D21 was not available with H51 A/C on a 70 Charger.

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 05/03/12 05:41 PM

As mentioned earlier, the A32 is most likely D32.

Only thing special about that tag is it's missing the transmission code.

B28 is November 28, 1969

What they said , the A32 is in the position that the trans code is placed , it's either D32 or someone , somewhere , screwed up.

You say the car is a 4 speed car, there is not D21 in your decode, how about posting a picture of the tag , block out the VIN if you are concerned .

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 05/03/12 06:52 PM

Here is a tag that should look very much like the one on this car...this is the same production date. This car however is a Charger 500 not an R/T.

D21 with H51 is fine on XH or XP Charger

Is it correct this is not the right VIN number and you are just using it as place holders?

I am surprised this post became so quiet all of the sudden! I expected to see a photo of the fender tag, tranny stamping, engine stamp or some photos of car by now. OP please provide us with more info on this car!!

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 04/02/20 12:27 AM

If you want to know why you haven't heard a reply, it's because the car is 100% fake. I have been trying to track down information on this sequence car. I know of the real "111111" production sequence car but its vin and trim tag were stolen years ago. The real 111111 car (which I have pictures of the body stampings to prove it) is actually a 318 2bbl automatic car in that bland green color half of all chargers seem to have came in. This is why none of his trim tag codes make sense, someone basically stole the evidence and decided to use the production sequence to create a car that never existed. Unless he can show me the vin, trim tag, and body stampings verifying this car it is likely a fake.

Not sure what the point is, you joined Moparts to reply to a nearly 8 year old post to someone that hasn't been on the site in nearly as long. The OP posted a total of 6 times and hasn't been on since. It's a little late to be calling him out about a fake VIN.

Re: Questions on this Rare Optioned Fender Tag - 04/02/20 03:15 AM

Just getting the word out, sounded like the other guy was curious about the car being things weren't lining up. I was simply saying why. If I had came across this sooner I would have said something sooner. A fake car is a fake car doesn't matter if the post is old or not. The fact is that 1) it's not right and 2) the original car had the tags stolen and this is part of the process that we might be using to deal with it, as the original car with matching drive train and title still exist. Not sure why you're upset but I would like to think any fake car that is exposed helps the community as a whole in general, there's too much of that that goes around. But you can have your opinion and this isn't the only reason I joined...

He clearly said it was the sequence number it didn't sound like he was using it as a placeholder.

He could not get the VON the same twice in a row though either......

Either way, not the same car.
