May have crossed a plug wire. How do I fix - 10/27/08 02:41 PM

I'm gonna get laughed at on this one, but how do I know if I crossed a wire? I don't know the firing order, but also need to know how do I match the wires from the distributor to the plugs? Engine is a 360.

small block or big block?

Small Chrysler: Clockwise 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
� Big Chrysler and Hemi: Counter-clockwise 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Firing order 18436572 clockwise around the cap SB abd counter clockwise big block.
Small block diagram. But number one can be anyplace as long as the firing order is followed and number one is located with the number one piston at TDC and in the firing position. 5 & 7 are the easiest to cross as they are next to each other in the capand also in teh firing order..

Thanks Gentlemen. Firing order looks right. Looking at my distributor, and the #1 on the Dist. is marked, however it is sitting where the two should be (according to your diagram). Is that because the timing has been advanced maybe?

Was trying to be the Big Man at 14, and give my cousin's Fury a tuneup. Grandpa ended up towing it home to fix. All was good, except the rotation

Not sure about aftermarket, but if its a stock intake, firing order is embossed on the manifold

I think that came about in the mid 70's, after my bumble.

Family never lets ya off the hook once that happens...

I'll get a call about it when we move the clocks back next Sun.
