LA rocker arm question

LA rocker arm question - 04/16/12 02:18 AM

I'm looking to buy some adjustable rockers for a 360. I was looking at some Crane iron rockers and I thought the small blocks used a spring to space the rockers like a big block. The seller says they don't use the springs. Can someone clear this up for me? I haven't been able to find any information on the Web.
Thanks, Kevin

Small blocks don't use springs, they use solid spacers.

Not sure how old my Crane ductile iron rockers were when I got them last year. They were new, but may have been sitting on a shelf for a long time. They have the separator springs.

On a side note, I did have an adjusting screw break, which is an issue Crane is notorious for having. Invested in a replacement set from Smith Bros.

I personally don't like the springs as it can allow the rocker to walk sideways depending on the situation , the new crane golds I have came with springs , I'll be switching to soild spacers.

Big block have springs because there is a big gap to fill , smallblocks have a lot less .
