Chambered Exhaust - 03/15/12 10:36 PM

Anyone running them and how do you like them? I think they sound awesome, plus there's a performance benefit, but I was also wondering how they are after living with them for a while.

Thoughts/feedback appreciated!

C`mon gang.... NO ONE has had any experience with, or had a friend, use chambered mufflers?!?!

I want to replace my _______ mufflers and wanted an honest opinion aside from the manufacturers testimonials from their (selected...) responses. Classic's Chambered Powersticks. 2.5" X 20" on a mild small block.

Thanks for any input. It's appreciated.....

Chambered as in Flowmaster style?

If so I had those on my Charger 15 years ago & instantly took them off. From outside the car the sound was great but the drone at cruise RPM was unbearable.

if you are talking about the chambered exhaust mufflers that are offered in the moparts sponser section, they are ok as long as you don't mind loud, i used them on a project with a blown 540, needless to say i had to ad some collector baffles to make them a little more tollerable, they are on a 41 willys coupe and there is not much room under the car so i was looking for something rather sleek, the last willys i did with a blown 426 hemi i used two 12" dynomax bullit mufflers end to end inside of some 4" tubing on both sides and that was about perfect, loud but good, hope this helps.

I thought I was seeing double!

Stu made the same post in the general section today.

I love the power sticks that Eric sells. (member and sponsor here) they are loud though. his mufflers give a great tone, awesome sound!!

I suggest that if you don't want a super loud system, to add a "single chamber" 12" glass pack resonator right behind the power sticks to help tone down the volume.

here's a single 3" system on my dakota. I have 2 30" x 3" flow path powersticks welded end to end, and a 12" glasspack resonator behind it.

I wouldn't run anything but Chambered pipes on my rides,...although I'd recommend the 30" model for better back pressure, I'm running them with factory manifolds and H pipe

I ordered a set of the Powersticks today. I have Flowmasters now, so I know all about drone. But the `Sticks don't drone. And as far as loud, I'm half-deaf from playing in rock bands all my life.... no chance of them being too loud. Besides, here in Queens we have Honda's with stereo's louder than most Pro Stocks.

Thanks for the input & sound clips. I'm looking forward to a deeper sound.

BTW: Yes, I ordered them from Classic Chambered, a MoParts sponsor. I've heard them and love the sound.
