Organasol paint - 03/10/12 07:32 PM

What modern paint looks the best to replace the old organasol lacquer paint.

I've yet to see one, although maybe someone knows. I've seen alot of so called "approved" cars that just use flat paint. At least they say it was approved by "that" guy. Anyway, I think it's wrong, but that's me. Also, if you do buy organosol paint (very expensive), it is tricky to apply and usually comes out uneven, so do your homework.

PPG Concept has a nice looking replacement in single stage. There are a couple of old threads on this subject. The texture is not exact.

Here it is on my Roadrunner hood.

For an AAR or T/A the organasol that Frank Badalson sells. Thats a proven mix that more than a few people have used, really liked, and had consistant results.

Saw an AAR with the Badalson stuff freshly sprayed on it. Lots of knowledgable Mopar people saw it at the resto shop and everyone was impressed.
