A to B-Body Conversion Master Cylinder ?

A to B-Body Conversion Master Cylinder ? - 03/04/12 02:21 PM

Looked through the tech archives but couldn't find the answer, so I'll ask it here.

Have a friend doing a disc brake swap on a 66 Belvedere that is a drum brake, single line master cylinder. He has all the disc parts off of a 1974 Dart, including the proportioning valve.

Trying to find out what master cylinder I need to order that will work. His car does not have power brakes. Will he need to find a different brake rod, or will his work if we get the right master cylinder?

Thanks
Dan

I would say a master cyl. off of a 70 b body manual disc car is the one you want, to match your rear wheel cylinders. As for rod, I think it is different, Dr. Diff sells an adjustable one.

Order a modern master cylinder and don't look back. Dr. Diff sells them with the adapter. The pushrod from a a body manual brake car are spot on for these master cylinders.

The guy is wanting to keep a stock looking cylinder if possible, and does not want to use the adapter.

Thanks

Did they offer a manual disc brake on a 69 or 70 C-Body? What are you using for a brake rod, or are you modifying one.

Thanks

He will when the old style leaks out brake fluid. DAMHIK!

The new ones are more expensive but hey it's only brakes right.
