Using Duster/Demon Trunk Extensions on A-body Cuda

Using Duster/Demon Trunk Extensions on A-body Cuda - 01/19/12 02:42 AM

I have seen that supposedly you can use Duster/Demon trunk extensions for an A-body Barracuda. I have a 69 Cuda and need trunk extensions and would like to hear from someone that has done this and how well it worked for them.

Thanks!!

I would say NO to this. The rear quarter is shaped differently - the A-body B-Fish has a curve to the wheel lip area behind the rear wheel, whereas the Duster/Demon is pretty straight. Plus, the very rearward area of the B-Fish quarters is very rounded & the Duster/Demon is pretty squared off. We used to sell rear lower patches off rust-free cars that included the bottom 18" or so of the quarter skin & the entire trunk extension, so I've handled many of them.

I have not used the duster/demon/dartsport trunk extensions for a 67-69 Barracuda but I know a restorer who does. He has used them many times and told me there was some trimming involved but they would work.(These are not cheap slapped together restorations either)
AFIK no one makes the correct trunk ext. for the 67-69 Barracuda's so its either modify new parts to fit or buy good used ones.
